Enzymes are natural substances that accelerate and control the metabolic processes in the body. They are of utmost importance for the immune system: they control the balance between activating and inhibiting immune reactions with which the body reacts to pathogens, injuries or harmful environmental impacts.
Inflammatory processes play a major role in most of the cases. Inflammatory processes are involved in much more diseases than it has been thought so far, fact which has been proven by recent research.
Enzymes can accelerate the course of an inflammation and at the same time reduce swellings, pains and function restrictions.
This takes place, for example, through the modulation of cytokines. Just like hormones and neurotransmitters, cytokines are messengers ensuring the communication between the cells of an organism.
Their anti-inflammatory effect also explains the wide range of application of the proteolytic highly active Mucos enzyme combinations:
Enzymes help the body to heal itself in all these indications.
In national and international research projects, doctors and natural scientists research into further possibilities of enzyme therapy. Numerous patents have been filed worldwide.
In a study on more than 1,000 female and male patients it could be proved that in the long-term therapy it is possible to reduce the usage of painkillers rich in side-effects (NSAID) by applying an additional enzyme therapy.

Enzymes are first taken additionally to medicines against rheumatism. In the case of an activated arthrosis, a high enzyme dosage is recommended, such as the one contained in Phlogenzym®. After a two-week enzyme therapy, the inflammations and swellings retire lastingly and a significant relief of the pain can be noticed. Through an improved blood flow, joints and muscles are provided again with sufficient vital oxygen, nutrients and warmth. Due to the progressive relief, the patient regains the long-missed mobility.
Through an additional enzyme therapy with Phlogenzym®, the pain can be reduced on the one hand, and on the other hand also the dose of anti-rheumatic medicines can be diminished. Thus one can renounce to on average at least one third of the dose. In this way, with an enzyme therapy one succeeds at the same time in reducing the risk for the dangerous side-effects of the NSAIDs.
